PIano Lessons in San Diego

Learn to play piano!
"Talented, patient instructors who really know their stuff. They don't teach straight out of books like a lot of instructors." - Brady J.
We teach a variety of piano styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn Bach or Alicia Keys, we are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be.

We’ll show you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory, but we will also incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons. You do not have to have a piano at home to take lessons. A simple full-size electronic keyboard will suffice.

The piano is widely used in popular music, classical, jazz, and traditional styles for solo performances, vocal accompaniment, and for composing and songwriting.

Although the piano is heavy and thus not portable its musical versatility (its wide pitch range, and ability to play chords with up to 10 notes, louder or softer notes and two or more independent musical lines at the same time), the large number of musicians and amateurs trained in playing it and its wide availability in performance venues, schools and rehearsal spaces have made it one of the world’s most familiar and popular musical instruments.

WHAT IS A GOOD AGE TO START PIANO LESSONS?

Since the piano is a fairly painless instrument to play - that is, you don't have to apply pressure on your fingertips to a string like you do on a guitar, bass, etc. - the piano can be a terrific and easy instrument for children to start learning on. For that reason, we recommend children begin piano lessons as early as 5 and even 4 years of age. If you enroll here for lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. At the first lesson your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.
